Ministry of Education, Roadshow videos
Project Description
In support of the national Curriculum Roadshow (20–30 October 2025), the Ministry of Education Te Poutāhū | Curriculum Centre commissioned a series of short-form videos that spotlight the rollout of the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum. The focus: showcasing the transformative power of structured literacy and explicit mathematics in classrooms across Aotearoa.
These videos were designed to inspire and inform principles and education leaders at the Roadshow, whilst aligning with the Minister’s vision for educational excellence.
Objective: Create uplifting, authentic stories that demonstrate how curriculum changes are positively impacting teaching and student learning.
Solution:
We partnered with the Ministry of Education to craft a series of videos that captured the voices of teachers, students, and school leaders, from four schools. Each video focused on a specific subject group, offering personal reflections and classroom insights.

Creative direction
- Tone: Heartwarming, empowering, and forward-looking.
- Visual Style: Light and bright colour palette, referencing the Roadshow’s green gradient branding.
- Music: Uplifting instrumental tracks to support the energy of the message.
- Footage: Interwoven shots of joyful, focused, and engaged learners across Years 0–8.
Production highlights
- Filmed at four schools across New Zealand: Lakeview, Silverstream, Deanwell, and Longbeach.
- Duration: 2–3 minutes per school video, 5–6 minutes for the compilation promo video.
- Diversity: Inclusive representation of learners across age, gender, and culture.
- Compliance: Content aligned with Ministry guidelines for cultural sensitivity, resource use, and consent.
Result:
The final video series was met with enthusiasm at the Roadshow, offering a powerful visual narrative of curriculum transformation in action, along with a promo video to support the Minister’s introductory speech. The 'Practice in action' videos have since been repurposed onto the Ministry’s curriculum resource platform, Tāhūrangi, extending the videos reach and impact.
